Information you provide directly

• Account registration details (name, email address, date of birth, role).
• Athlete profile data (sport, position, height, weight, GPA, graduation year, highlights).
• Payment information processed by our third-party payment processor (we do not store full card numbers).
• Messages, posts, and other content you submit to the Platform.
• Communications you send to our support or legal team.

Information collected automatically

• Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited.
• Device identifiers and session tokens used to maintain your login state.
• Usage data: features accessed, search queries, and interaction timestamps.
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).

Information from third parties

• OAuth identity providers (e.g., Manus Auth) when you sign in via a third-party login.
• Sponsors or clubs who share contact information to facilitate introductions on the Platform.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
• Display your athlete profile, team, or club listing to other users.
• Facilitate tournament registrations, tryout applications, and sponsorship connections.
• Process payments and send transaction confirmations.
• Send service-related notifications (account activity, new messages, application updates).
• Improve the Platform through analytics, A/B testing, and user research.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations, including COPPA requirements for users under 13.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human review.

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With other users

Public athlete profiles, team rosters, club listings, and tournament pages are visible to all registered users, including coaches, recruiters, and sponsors. You control your profile visibility in your account settings.

With service providers

We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate the Platform (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics). These vendors are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.

For legal reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NextPlay Nation, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

NextPlay Nation takes the privacy of children seriously and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

When a user indicates they are under 13, or when we have reason to believe a user is under 13, we require a parent or guardian to provide verifiable consent before the account is activated. Parents may:

• Review the personal information we have collected about their child.
• Request correction or deletion of that information.
• Revoke consent at any time, which will result in deletion of the child's account.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform's services. We also retain data as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the link in the email footer.
• Profile visibility: Set your athlete profile to private in your account settings at any time.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, and understand how users interact with our services. Specifically:

• Session cookies: Required to keep you logged in during a browsing session.
• Preference cookies: Remember settings such as theme or language.
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g., which pages are most visited).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform, including your ability to stay logged in.

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, access controls, and regular security reviews.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, or services that are not operated by us. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

NextPlay Nation is operated in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

We do not sell or share personal information as defined under California law. To submit a California privacy request, email [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request."

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email or via a prominent in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
